Meet our 2020 Virtual City2Surf ambassadors
With a month to go, the 2020 Virtual City2Surf is almost here and we’re excited to announce our line-up of ambassadors.
Lace up those trainers and fill up those water bottles - Team Cure Cancer is ready to take on the 2020 City2Surf!
The iconic City2Surf has gone virtual and so have we. This year, we’re bringing the race to your doorstep for your chance to take part wherever you are. If you’re in Sydney, Melbourne or even Coolangatta, we need you to run for an important cause: life-saving cancer research.
On October 18, take to your streets and complete your very own City2Surf course for our pioneering cancer researchers, passionate about changing the course of cancer research for good. Walk, run, skip, there’s no limit on what you can do as long as you hit the 14KM target.
Join our incredible Cure Cancer ambassadors who’ll be taking on the challenge themselves and together, let’s raise $50,000 to enable a young cancer researcher to carry out half a year of innovative research.
Shannan Ponton

“Cancer is such an insidious, indiscriminate disease - it doesn’t matter how fit, old or strong you are, it’s the one thing that can still take you out and the only thing that really scares me. Together we can make a difference, let’s Cure Cancer once and for all!”
Rae Johnston
TV Journalist
“We've all lost too many loved ones to cancer, and Cure Cancer's commitment to helping young, innovative Australian scientists find a cure through practical and direct funding is a cause I passionately and wholeheartedly support.”
Glenn Manton
Australian Rules footballer
“2020 has further highlighted the need for the entire community to support the individuals within it. Individuals who may be struggling with any number of issues including cancer.
My support of City2Surf not only extends to individuals but all those around them - with running one of many worthwhile pursuits to benefit both physical and mental health.
Come run with me.”
Zoe Bingley-Pullin
Nutritionist
”Having experienced my own father go through cancer and despite him always being a healthy person, during his recovery, he took his health to the next level. This has really inspired me to not only do all I can for my own health but also do anything that can help encourage others to be more active and live a healthy lifestyle - it''s a no-brainer! It’s also important for me to help raise awareness for cancer research and especially early-career cancer researchers because research is a game-changer in helping to both prevent and cure cancer.”
Michele Chevalley Hedge
Nutritionist
"I am thrilled to be an ambassador for Cure Cancer and to promote healthy, tasty and easy recipes for BarbeCURE, World's Biggest Dinner and City2Surf that the whole family will enjoy."
Run for a cause and sign up today to be part of Team Cure Cancer in the 2020 Virtual City2Surf and receive a limited-edition 50th anniversary CitySurf medal. Together, let’s hit the ground running and make this the last generation to die from cancer.
