Our Red Tie Christmas BARBECURE marked the official launch of The Summer of BARBECUREs, and what a fabulous evening it was!
On Thursday 7 December 2017 Cure Cancer Australia welcomed nearly 500 guests to Hawker Pacific Hangar for our inaugural Red Tie Christmas BARBECURE. The event was part of the Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal and also launched our Summer of BARBECUREs campaign.
With breathtaking views of the airfield, the guests enjoyed a wonderful menu designed by leading Australian chef and restauranteur Luke Mangan and entertainment was courtesy of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Another highlight of the evening was the wonderful Q&A session with our BARBECURE ambassador Paul Hogan AM and the Honourable John Brown AO.
We are deeply grateful to the Sydney Airport Community for their generosity and support and would also like to thank our campaign partners, sponsors and everyone who attended our Red Tie Christmas BARBECURE event. A special thank you goes to our fantastic MC for the evening, Edwina Bartholomew.
We are proud to announce that from the raffle and auction prizes we raised vital funds which will go towards a dedicated Sydney Airport Community Christmas Appeal 2-year research grant – bringing us ever closer to our goal to help make this the last generation to die from cancer.
