Cancer and COVID-19

2020 has so far been an incredibly difficult year for many of us. Cure Cancer has faced a number of obstacles as a result of both the bushfires at the start of the year and by the disruption caused by COVID-19.

The necessary cancellation of key fundraising events and social distancing measures have brought our ability to fundraise close to standstill. We estimate a loss of close to $500,000 funds raised – equating to over 10,000 hours of cancer research.

147,956 cases of cancer are estimated to be diagnosed in Australia this year. Our researchers are determined to continue their crucial work and we remain committed to raising funds, providing hope and enabling ground-breaking cancer research.

We need your support now, more than ever.

Whilst we continue to fundraise we are closely following directives from the Australian Government and the guidance of the World Health Organisation (WHO). See current measures here
