Through corporate donations, we’ve been able to fund amazing scientists like immunotherapy researcher Dr. Jessica Duarte, whose project will predict treatment outcomes in rare cancers, as well as hundreds of others.

Despite the fact that 50% of cancer deaths are a result of rare cancers, they receive a mere fraction of the funding of more common cancers and are often excluded from clinical trials and studies.

Jessica’s work could lead to a personalised medicine approach where all cancer patients, irrespective of cancer type, have a unique treatment plan with a high likelihood of success. By analysing a drop of blood taken from patients undergoing immunotherapy, she aims to predict how they’ll respond to treatments aimed at boosting their immune systems.

Research like Jessica’s has the potential to save countless lives, but without funding, cancer research has no future.
