Nothing brings people together like a BarbeCURE®

See how our community has fired up their grills for BarbeCURE®

Bobbin Head Cruising Club’s floating BarbeCURE®

For more than 30 years, Bobbin Head Cruising Club has hosted a beloved floating BarbeCURE®, bringing their community together on the water for a day of food, fun and fundraising. Members decorate their boats, share a generous BBQ feast and travel from vessel to vessel for raffles and auctions, all in support of Cure Cancer. For more than six years, chef Adam Moore has proudly manned the grill, lending his culinary skills and long-standing support to make the event even more special. Over time, the club has raised close to $600,000 to help drive vital research across multiple cancer types. Their annual BarbeCURE® shows how a shared passion, a tight-knit community and a good barbecue can create lasting impact.

A Workplace Tradition: SC Johnson’s annual staff BarbeCURE®

At SC Johnson, the annual BarbeCURE® has become a much-loved tradition led by long-time Cure Cancer supporter Eddy Agcaoili. What began in 2017 as Eddy’s tribute to his late wife has grown into a major highlight of the company’s year. Staff gather for a workplace BBQ filled with homemade dishes, raffles and a lively auction that once saw colleagues bidding to swap office desks. Former employees even return to take part. Together, the SC Johnson team has now raised more than $111,000, helping fund vital hours of research in cancer types that urgently need progress. Their BarbeCURE® is a powerful example of how one workplace can build community, honour loved ones and back the next breakthrough.

A BarbeCURE® Livestream: Miss Molly Makes’ online cook-up

Miss Molly Makes brought a whole new flavour to BarbeCURE® when she hosted a livestream for her online community. She set creative fundraising milestones that kept viewers glued to the screen, including quirky costumes, hot sauce shots and even a pledge to swim across the canal once donations hit a target. Her 3.5 hour livestream showed that a BarbeCURE® does not need to be in a backyard to bring people together. With a bit of imagination and a camera, she turned a simple cook up into a fun, inclusive event that inspired people around the world to support cancer research. Watch the livestream here.

Home Fires The Fan Man’s BarbeCURE® Tour

Home Fires The Fan Man put their own spin on BarbeCURE® with a series of BBQ events across their Sydney showrooms. One of their most memorable moments was a live demonstration at 2GB featuring renowned butcher Brett Laws, who showed off expert grilling skills while helping spread awareness for Cure Cancer. Their team used what they know best good food, good equipment and good company to bring customers together for a cause. By turning their passion for barbecue into community events, they showed that any local business can add a charitable twist to what they already do well.

Google Australia’s annual BarbeCURE®

Google Australia brought its creative workplace culture to BarbeCURE® with a BBQ series that united staff for a cause close to many. Employees enjoyed themed cook ups, guest appearances from Cure Cancer ambassadors and a special BarbeCURE® with the Stars event featuring celebrity chef Gary Mehigan. With Google’s gift matching in place, staff contributions doubled, helping turn their BBQs into meaningful support for emerging researchers. These events showed that even simple lunchtime gatherings can spark generosity, connection and real impact when a workplace comes together with purpose.
