Position Description 

Position Title:  Marketing Community and Talent Volunteer 

Position Type: Part Time: 1-2 days per week, flexible working  

Reports to: Marketing Manager

The Role: 

This part-time, flexible role is ideal for a student or flexible worker and someone looking to make an everyday impact on the future of cancer research.   

The Marketing Community and Talent Volunteer’s day to day tasks will focus on research and outreach of community groups, influencers and ambassadors that Cure Cancer can align with to amplify their key campaigns (like BarbeCURE, Appeals and Fitness campaigns) in the media and across social media and networks.   

Key Responsibilities: 

To support the Marketing team to research and recruit talent and communities to align with, participate in and amplify their campaigns:   

Influencers and ambassadors: 

  • Desk research influencers and ambassadors who align with Cure Cancer’s cause 
  • Help develop talent proposals ( word powerpoint or canva) 
  • Create some social media content for ambassadors and influencers 
  • Outreach to ambassadors and influencers via email and DMs 

 Community groups: 

  • Desk research community groups who are likely to participate in Cure Cancer fundraising campaigns. 
  • Create social media content and email content to send to community groups to acquire them and engage them throughout a fundraising campaign.  

 

Skills & Experience: 

Essential   

  • Interest in marketing/ publicity / social media  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision  
  • A proven eye for detail  
  • Some experience in creating social media content and social media platforms (personal or external/work related) 
  • Ability to follow a clear brief of instruction  
  • Some experience with video editing programmes e.g. adobe creative suite  

Desired, but not essential:   

  • Studying for Publicity, Comms, Media or Marketing or qualification  
  • Previous use of a website content management system 
  • Proficient in Canva    
  • Proficient in MS Office  

Hours   

  • 1-2 days a week, flexible hours available.  

Digital and Social Volunteer

Position Type: Part Time: 1-2 days per week, flexible working  

Reports to: Digital Executive

The Role:

The Social Media and Digital content co-ordinators to day tasks will focus on content creation and delivery across our social media and digital channels (including our website, TikTok, FaceBook, Instagram and LinkedIn). In particular supporting with video and static content creation for our diverse products and fundraising campaigns (for example BarbeCURE, DiningforaCURE, Cancer Type Appeals, In Celebration).   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

To support the Digital and Social Media Exec to create appealing content for our audiences across Cure Cancer’s Digital and Social Media channels. In particular:   

  • Create short form video content and reels  
  • Create static and carousel creative and content  
  • Short form copy writing for posts on our social media channels and on our website  
  • Engage with followers on Cure Cancer social media channels     
  • Update creative assets on our website   

Skills & Experience:

  • Interest in digital marketing and/or social media  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision  
  • A proven eye for detail  
  • Proficient in Canva   
  • Proficient in video editing  
  • Proficient in MS Office  
  • Confident phone manner  
  • Ability to follow a clear brief of instruction  
  • Some experience with video editing programmes e.g. adobe creative suite
