I am swimming for a CURE

Y'all know I've supported this cause for a while.   This year, it's even more pertinent to me, as hubby is currently being treated for Stage 2 Lung Cancer.   I like Cure Cancer as an organisation, because it gives funding to scientists new to the career, exploring new ideas in cancer research with their big brains - these are the people that are going to make a big difference in the future - if they can get a start NOW.

This March, I am making a splash for cancer research. Cure Cancer’s Swim for a CURE i

Please help me by donating through my page. It only takes a minute, and any money you can give (no matter how large or small) will go a long way to helping me reach my target.

My Swim for a CURE will help fund more vital cancer research projects.

A BIG thank you for helping me make a splash for cancer research and Swim for a CURE!

HOLY CRAP. Did not expect that.

Sunday 1st Mar
Honestly guys - you are amazing.  I expected to guilt a few people into donating, but day one - 20 donations and over $1500 later.....I'm bawling.    Here I was thinking I was going to have to pull some stunt like a mile every hour for 12 hour swim to hit that number....and it's done.
Don't think I won't do a stunt though (if tony's healht/weather/work/stars align) to try and raise more.

Thank you day 1 donators..   Maybe you can imagine, maybe you can't - how good that makes me feel that there are so many able to help the cause.  Cancer treatment and prevention has certainly moved in the right direction, but there is still so much more we can do to improve outcomes
.
More good news - Tony was discharged home from hospital about an hour ago.   Yay!   3 more cycles of chemo are due - but the oncologist wants to discuss whether that is possible or not given what just happened.  We think it is, and we'll be arguing to absolutely go ahead.
I've grown to quite like him and want to keep him around, and he's been through a lot already and ain't quitting now.
