Tuesday 23rd Jan The social event team at Arbor Retirement Village are organising this BarbeCure to honour our friend Trish, and all those of us who have experienced cancer ourselves or within our family and friends. We celebrate all things Australian, our First Nations people, and our multicultural society as well as our amazing flora and fauna. We hope for a successful event to raise important funds for cancer research. Share

Cancer affects everyone! Research into rare cancers is so important!

Wednesday 10th Jan Recently a friend died from a brain tumour less than a month after diagnosis, My brother died from a brain tumour on Australia Day 2007, 15 months after diagnosis, A young friend of my daughter died from a rare cancer - a type of sarcoma in October 2022 and my grandson is receiving on going treatment for a arcoma first diagnosed 8 years ago, I am very aware of the need for research into these cancers. As a breast cancer survivor, as is one of my daughters, I am also aware that our  teatment and survival are very much due to on going research into breast cancer. My mother died from breast cancer many years ago, with not as much known then.The difference in knowledge is telling. Research into the rare cancers and brain tumours needs to be supported and ongoing. Share
