We know how much everyone loves spending time on Facebook and connecting with their loved ones, but did you know that you can now host a fundraiser on Facebook and support a cause close to your heart.

Since Facebook Fundraisers launched, our fabulous online supporters have raised an incredible $820,000 for cancer research! Whether it’s for your birthday, an anniversary, a wedding celebration or to commemorate a special event, Facebook Fundraisers are an easy way to bring people together online.

It’s easy to set up your Facebook Fundraiser - follow these four easy steps to get started:

1. Create your Facebook fundraiser

On your Facebook news feed, head to the left sidebar and under the Explore tab, you’ll see a link called “Fundraisers”. When you click on this, it will open to the Fundraisers main page. Click ‘Raise money’ to start creating your own fundraising page.

2. Raise funds for Cure Cancer

When you click on ‘Raise Money, the following pop up will appear, click on ‘Charities’, type in ‘Cure Cancer’ in the search bar and choose Cure Cancer.

3. Tell your story

You can now fill in your details, add your fundraising goal and share with the Facebook community why you’re raising funds to support Cure Cancer and cancer research. You can also choose your own cover image to make it more appealing for people to donate.

When you are finished making the final tweaks to your fundraising page, you can publish your page by clicking ‘create’.

4. Share your fundraiser

Now that your fundraising page has been published, you can share it far and wide to get your friends involved – this includes posting it on your Newsfeed or inviting your friends to the fundraiser. To kick off your fundraising, you can also make a donation to yourself.

Tips: On the right hand side of the page, you can see a few useful tools from Facebook, these include the invite your friends widget, your fundraiser link and a share update box – in which you can alert your donors on how your fundraising is going.
