Vanessa Barry, CEO

Vanessa assumed the role of Cure Cancer CEO in May 2025. She brings a wealth of expertise spanning philanthropy, communications and purpose driven leadership. Her career includes impressive roles, most recently leading the medical research grant funder, Avant Foundation, as well as CEO positions at Variety - The Children's Charity (NSW/ACT) and St.George Foundation; and Director of Philanthropy at UNICEF. With experience as both a fundraiser and a grantmaker throughout her career, Vanessa has developed unique insights into what makes charitable organisations effective and impactful.
