John Bertrand AO Lends Support to BARBECURE
Cure Cancer Australia Ambassador John Bertrand is backing BARBECURE, and urging Australian Sailing to do the same
Cure Cancer Australia are delighted to welcome on board our new BARBECURE ambassador, John Bertrand AO.
The Australian yachtsman is best known for skippering Australia II to victory in the 1983 America’s Cup, ending 132 years of American supremacy.
‘I’m supporting Cure Cancer Australia and BARBECURE because I believe that the only way we’re going to cure cancer is through research’ says John. ‘BARBECURE lets people like you and me get involved in a fun, social activity and raise money for the brightest innovators in cancer research.’
John is urging Australian Sailing to follow in his footsteps, bringing the sailing community together to host BARBECUREs at their local sailing clubs.
‘I’m asking the Australian Sailing community to get behind Cure Cancer Australia and show your support by hosting a BARBECURE throughout May. Why not turn your end of year get together into a BARBECURE and help to make this the last generation to die from cancer?’
Please support our mission and get together for a day of good fun and good food, all whilst helping to raise money for Australia’s brightest early career researchers working across all areas of cancer research and all cancer types.
