Young Henrys and friends host community BARBECURE for Cure Cancer Australia
Young Henrys is joining forces with some of the inner west’s most renowned food and beverage brands to host the ultimate BARBECURE.
Held at the COMMUNE Waterloo on Saturday 14 April, the money raised will go towards supporting Australia’s brightest emerging cancer researchers as they search for a cure.
The Young Henrys team said:
"Our BARBECURE 2017 was a great success but this year we’re aiming even bigger. We’re stoked to be able to help raise funds for the best emerging cancer researchers; they do such important work. That we get to do it by throwing a big barbie with our buddies in the Inner West’s backyard - even better!"
Young Henrys will be joined by Archie Rose and the Urban Winery serving beverages all day and, supporting BARBECURE for the second year, the Mary’s team will be back with their famous Mary’s burgers and fries. Vegetarian food truck Vejoes will be treating guests to haloumi burgers, 3 cheese quesadillas, smoked tofu burgers and vegan butter chicken curry wraps, and MotherSky Coffee will be on hand with caffeine delivering a great brew for all to enjoy.
With live performances by Pavlova Gods, Reggie Banks, Hey Lady! and Mookhi, Sydneysiders are encouraged to pop by the Addison Road Community Centre on Saturday 14 April between 1pm – 6pm and help raise as much money as possible.
Cure Cancer Australia will also be asking you to ‘Give It Up’ by donating $10 a month to help young cancer researchers. Young Henrys will be shouting all new sign ups a beer on the day!
All proceeds from food and beverage sales will be donated to Cure Cancer Australia, and there will be additional opportunities for the public to support on the day via donation boxes, the sale of a limited edition Young Henrys tee (back by popular demand from last year’s event), and by purchasing raffle tickets.
Cure Cancer Australia CEO, Mrs Floyd Larsen said:
“We’re thrilled Young Henrys are once again supporting Cure Cancer Australia with this fantastic community BARBECURE. As innovators in their field, we are delighted that they have chosen to get involved.
1 Australian dies every 12 minutes from cancer*. The only way we can change this is through research, which is why we invest in the ideas of Australia’s brightest innovators, working across all areas of cancer research and all cancer types.
We’re so pleased that, by supporting BARBECURE, Young Henrys are helping us to spread our message. We’re really hoping as many people as possible agree to ‘Give It Up’ for young cancer researchers on the day. By donating $10 a month, you can join us in our mission to help make this the last generation to die from cancer.”
