80km for Cancer research
In 2022, I completed the Busselton Ironman in Western Australia. After a 12-hour journey, I crossed the finish line and vowed to retire from ultra-endurance events for good.
However, as months passed I had an urge to go again and this time raise money for a worthy cause. So, this October, I'm diving back into the pain cave for Cancer Research!
The Challenge Ahead:
The Bondi to Manly Ultra is a race around the world’s most beautiful harbour. This 80km track around Sydney Harbour, with over 1700m of elevation, promises to be as challenging as it is picturesque.
Why This Cause Matters
Cancer has touched us all, whether personally or through the experiences of loved ones. This is one of the reasons I have chosen Cure Cancer as my charity of choice to raise funds for and contribute towards something that has an impact on everyday lives and loved ones around us. Cure Cancer funds the top 1% of the brightest new research projects across all types of cancer, aiming to save and change millions of lives.
Doubling the Impact
For every dollar I raise, Google will match the donation, effectively doubling the impact. I am proud to work for an organization that prioritizes giving back and helping others in such a significant way.
The next five months will be filled with long trail runs, recovery sessions and ice baths but I will be hoping to come out the other side having made an impact for an amazing cause.
